Bach Platinum, Reserva Cava, Penedes, Spain
6.75
This is one of the top selling cavas in Spain. A blend of indigenous grapes Parellada and Macabeo giving earth and apple notes, with a healthy wedge of citrussy Chardonnay providing body and interest to this delightfully refreshing sparkler.

Prosecco, Bartolomeo, Spumante, Rosato, Veneto, Italy
8.50

The first thing to note about this wine is that it probably doesn’t exist! Or rather there are some wine writers who like to point out that Prosecco is a white grape and can’t make a pink wine. They may call themselves purists, others will say pedants. Either way they don’t deserve to try this elegant and enchanting sparkler which is made as most other pink fizzies are (including nearly all Champagne) by blending a little red wine with a sparkling white. The red used here is Marzemino; an ancient grape originating in Trentino, which in addition to the beautiful pink colour, gives the wine its lively red berry fruits and slight spiciness.

Prosecco Frizzante, Drusian, Veneto, Italy
8.75

Exquisite, refreshing pre-dinner drink, packaged without the champagne capsule, meaning that you get more fizz for your money (lower duty).  Lovely almonds and freshly sharpened pencil on the nose follow through to a creamy mouthfilling palate.  One to share with friends before a night out on the town.

Brachetto d'Acqui, Cantina di Canelli, NV, Italy
9.50
A piedmontese peculiarity that everyone should be drinking! Light on the alcohol and a nice alternative to a heavy pudding wine at the end of a meal. “A gently fizzy, sweet pale red, with a pure scent of rose petal and raspberries. Delicious with dark chocolate” Kitty Johnson, “Olive magazine”

Prosecco Spumante Brut, Drusian (full bottle / magnum)
10.95 / 25.00
The Drusian family take their winemaking seriously, with an essentially organic process in the vineyard, and a careful pressing at low pressure in the winery to ensure high quality juice. The result is a very fun wine. Beautifully presented, this wine has long elegant flavours of mouth coating crunchy apples and lemon meringue.

Luis Pato, Sparkling Rose, Bairrada, Portugal, 2005
9.50
Luis Pato (or Luis ‘Duck’ - hence the label!) is indisputably one of Bairrada’s finest producers and named in FT Magazine as among the Top 25 Best New Wine Producers, in their Consumers Guide to the Continent. This is a fresh and crisp sparkling rose from the local Baga grape, which is brimming with raspberry and cherry aromas accompanied by hints of orange peel on the palate. It has added complexity due to time spent in oak. Great as an aperitif or with smoked salmon.

Cremant de Bourgogne, Cave de Prisse, NV
9.90
This eccentric blend of Pinot Noir and Gamay, is p roduced at Cave de Prissé, one of the top performing co-operatives in Burgundy. Easy drinking, full bodied style of champagne-method fizz, with lots of up front fruit.

Mauler Rose, Neuchatel, Switzerland, NV
12.00
This is a very “Swiss” wine: high quality, precise, individualistic and discreet. The only quality it avoids is a gold-plated price tag. Exquisite notes of strawberries and cream give way to a surprisingly dry and full-bodied palate. Genuinely unusual and guaranteed to pep up the jaded sparkly guzzler.

Cremant du Jura, Stephane Tissot - NV Brut /Rose
13.50
The wine-maker Stephane Tissot is something of a celebrity amongst the wine cognoscenti of Paris. He makes a range of highly sought after and superbly crafted wines from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay which are produced in a Burgundian style (Jura is just East of Burgundy) and a range of less well known varietal wines from local grapes such as Trousseau and Savignin. We think his Crémant du Jura is very special and great value for money. Both white and rosé is produced from a blend of red grapes Poulsard, Trousseau and Pinot Noir and from white grapes Chardonnay, Pinot Gris and Savagnin.

Quadra, Franciacorta, Lombardia, Italy, NV
15.00
Franciacorta acquired high prices and variable quality after becoming ultra-fashionable in Milan in the 60s and 70s - so this is a rare combination of excellent quality, small production and great value for money. A b lend of Chardonnay, Pinot Nero and Pinot Bianco, from grapes grown just south of Lago D'Iseo and made using the champagne method. However, rather than age in oak, they apply a neat trick and use wine that has been aged in oak when they top-up after disgorging. If you like Champagne, you’ll love this sparkly… and appreciate the price.
