The chalky soil in Grand Champagne gives this Cognac its outstanding finesse and delicacy that only appears after some age. While VSOP only needs to be 4.5 years old by law, this cognac is derived from Brandies between 10-40 years old. It won Gold medal in its class both times it entered the international wine and spirit challenge, and the Judges Bernard Hine and the Chef de Cave at Remy, initially insisted that a mistake had been made, and that it need to be entered in the XO class. It came third….

Following traditions dating back over 600 years this vodka is handcrafted in the small town of Zyrardow on the Mazovian plains west of Warsaw. It is made entirely from Dankowskie Gold Rye and is distilled the optimum four times – three distillations leave minor imperfections, five strip away delicious flavour notes. There are hints of vanilla on the nose, a subtle smooth sweetness on the palate with a fresh clean finish that comes from using rye as the single ingredient.

From a small family run estate this Calvados has been aged for 10 to 12 years in lightly toasted Loire oak and neither filtrated nor cold-stored. It is golden in colour with a floral nose. On the palate it is smooth and well balanced achieving a good compromise between the freshness of fruit and the concentration of old eau-de-vie.

This rum is made by traditional methods using small copper stills and then aged in bourbon casks. Like all the best Barbados rum it is rich and aromatic with strong notes of coconut and ripe vanilla on the nose. Dark Amber in colour, it is subtle and elegant on the palate, with a remarkable balance of ripe exotic fruits and oak flavours.

‘Fine’ is a high quality brandy made in small quantities by distilling leftover wine (as distinct from ‘Marc’ which is made from the pomace, grape skins, and pips left after pressing) This ‘Fine’ from Burgundy’s undisputed finest domaine, is aged in oak for at least 12 years and acquires a tawny hue and nutty flavours. Annual production of this ‘Fine’ from DRC is fewer than 500 bottles. Yes, you really will be drinking the grape juice which comes from that hallowed soil; albeit in distilled form!
