Late Harvest Oremus, Hungary, 2004 (Half)
10.50
According to the Wine Spectator: “Concentrated flavors of honey, orange blossom and bitter almond are buoyed by the rich texture and bright acidity”. This is an impressive wine from the joint venture between Vega Sicila and a former state-run Tokaji house. The grapes are mostly raisined but 40% botrytised. This makes a wine of extraordinary intensity and complexity: we’d add flowers, coffee beans, minerals to the list of descriptors….Drink now through 2008. Only 625 cases made

Symphony de Novembre, Jurancon, 2004 (Half)
10.50
With remarkable intensity, the nose perfectly marries the aromas of exotic fruits and coconut with refined woody notes of spice, resin and toast. The palate is smooth and aromatic with a vivacious acidity that carries exquisite notes of pineapples, brazil nuts and coconuts. Beautifully accompanies Foie Gras as a Sauternes alternative.

Marc Bredif, Nectar, Vouvray, 1996 (Half)
17.00
The right conditions to create this special sweet wine in this part of the Loire only happen twice a decade. Made from Chenin Blanc, this delightful wine is lovely for drinking now and will age forever. Exceptionally good partner for Strawberries and Cream.

Concerto Blanc Doux, Gaillac, 2000
18.75
Luscious, sensuous, silky textures and incredibly harmonious aromas/flavours of preserved oranges, apricot jam, dried fruits, nuts and quince derive from very old muscadelle vines picked in successive tris, with high levels of botrytis – resulting in very low yields of high quality fruit. The fruit character is surprisingly fresh and balanced the sweetness perfectly. Recommended with Foie Gras or Roquefort, as well as fruit based desserts. We may well have led a sheltered life, but this is certainly one of the best sweet wines we’ve ever tasted.

Coteaux du Layon, Chateau Soucherie, Py Tijou, 1995
20.00
“The 1995 Coteaux du Layon-Beaulieu offers herbal tea and distant nail polish aromas as well as a layered, well-balanced, off-dry, mineral and earth-infused, medium-bodied flavor profile” Drink it between now-2009. Robert Parker, 87 Points.

Ancienne Cure, Cuvee Abbaye, Monbazillac, 2003

20.50

Negre De Panses, Joaquim Alberti, Emporda, 2004
22.50

On the list at El Bulli (almost certainly the world’s best restaurant according to every survey going) this unctuous sweet treat is produced from 100% red garnacha. Only 108 cases made.

Picolit, Perusini, Friuli, Italy, 2003
26.90
These sweet wines used to enjoy a reputation for being among the finest in the world; these days few justify their price. The Perusini family is, however, synonymous with excellence in production of Picolit. Fragrant with ripe, powerful notes of honey, white flowers, and tropical fruit, this wine possess significant viscosity and excellent balance.

Vin Santo Dei Cappuccini, Simonelli Santi, 2000

Chateau de Malle, Sauternes, 2003/04 (full)

Chateau Rieussec, Sauternes, 1990 halves

Hill 3, Leo Hillinger, Trockenbeerenauslese, Chardonnay/Sauvignon Blanc, Burgenland, Austria
32.00

Sweet caramelised peach, dried apricot and fresh lemon build to a truly stunning crescendo in this excellent TBA. It’s thickly structured, has almost endless length and is worth every penny.

Torcolato, Breganze, Veneto, Italy, 2002 - Boxed Set with Two Glasses
33.00
Late harvest/botrytis affected Vespaiolo grapes (named after the word ‘vespa’ meaning ‘wasp’ in Italian - because the ultra-sweetness attracts them) are dried on mats to concentrate the sugars and flavour compounds. This is s ucculent, luscious dessert wine, not too sweet as a result of perfectly balanced acidity. In Italy this is considered a "wine of meditation," and therefore best drunk on its own, however, it is also excellent with cakes and fruit tarts and especially with gorgonzola or other creamy blue cheeses. Torcolato has a rich spicy flavour reminiscent of baked pears. It is also possible to pick up hints of apricots, honey, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg and hazelnuts.

Vin Santo Dei Cappuccini, Simonelli Santi, 2000
29.00
